High Pure High Dense Silica Brick

High pure high dense silica brick is made of pure quartzite (SiO2>98%) as the raw materials by adding a small amount of mineralizing agent and binding agent (CaO+FeO<1.5%). 

When considering the production arrangement and measures, try to improve the content of SiO2 and reduce the porosity. When the content of SiO2 is improved, the high temperature properties such as refractoriness can be improved. This can improve the slag resistance, air permeability and thermal conductivity. 

 

When silica bricks are used in the roof of the open hearth furnace, dust and molten slags on the surface of brick are melt at high temperature and penetrate into the bricks. Improving the density of the bricks can improve the service life of the furnace and help to improve the thermal conductivity and reduce air permeability. The way to increase the content of SiO2 is to increase the purity of raw materials, reduce the amount of additives and avoid pollution. 

 

The mineralizing agent and binding agent are better to use CaO+FeO mixture. The grain size must be controlled well.
