SiC brick is made of SiC as the main raw material. It contains 72%-99% SiC. According to the bonding method, it can be divided into clay bonded SiC brick, Si3N4 bonded SiC brick, Sialon bonded SiC brick, β-SiC bonded SiC brick, Si2ON2 bonded SiC brick and recrystallizated SiC brick. 

Silicon carbide brick has high thermal conductivity, good wear resistance, good thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance. It can be used in aluminum reduction cell linings, molten aluminum tubes and ceramic kiln furniture, the belly, bosh and the lower part of stack of medium-sized blast furnace, luminum refining furnace lining and zinc distillation tank lining. 

 

unqualified silicon carbide products can greatly affect the service life of the furnace, increase investment in refractories and cause unnecessary losses. So how to judge the qualiy of SiC brick?

 

First, silicon carbide brick sizes should be precise. The specific weight of silicon carbide brick is between 2.45--2.6. if the specific weight is too small or too big, the material itself is not pure and other refractory materials are added, which greatly influence the content of silicon carbide and the heat transfer performance. 

 

When purchasing SiC brick, check whether there is chipping and cracking. chipping and cracks should be in the range of the GB standard.
